Put a Spark in Your Volunteer Experience!
The Flint Sparks are goodwill ambassadors, who truly enjoy promoting Flint and Genesee County. The Sparks are a volunteer group that is an extension of our convention services. The Spark activities include:
- Staffing a Visitor Information Center at Bishop International Airport.
- Greeting guests coming into our community on motor coaches and at conventions.
- Answering questions and distributing brochures at information booths.
- Helping with registration for groups.
We have a meeting at 10 a.m. on the last Thursday of every month at a member facility. Once or twice a year we have a Sparks's appreciation, where the Flint - Genesee County Convention & Visitors Bureau treats you to an event. Appreciations that we have done in the past include: Luncheon Cruise on the Genesee Belle, Tickets to the Chesaning Showboat, a tour of the Mott Applewood Estates and dinner at a local restaurant, and a brunch theater. The Sparks are also invited to attend the Hospitality Awards and our Holiday Open House, as our guest.
