Historic Atwood Stadium

Flint's historic Atwood Stadium is an 11,000-seat stadium located in Flint, Michigan. It opened on June 8, 1929 and has hosted high school football, minor-league baseball, and concerts over the years. It has been home to American Presidents from FDR to JFK, athletic icons from Jesse Owens and Mark Ingram II and legendary rockers The Who.

Atwood has been a great venue for sports for more than 80 years and it continues to be a fixture in the rich history of athletics that's still unfolding in the Vehicle City.

Currently Atwood in undergoing key renovations, but the stadium is still in use for events, large and small. In the fall, Atwood plays host to high school football involving the Flint Community Schools and, in the summer, the club football team at The University of Michigan - Flint competes in the stadium.

In 2006, most of Atwood's seating received renovations, with new padded vinyl seats installed. They are currently several other renovation projects being considered to enhance the overall experience at one of Michigan's sporting treasures.
