Flint Area CVB to present Hospitality Awards Thursday
FLINT, Michigan – Every year, the Flint area Convention & Visitors Bureau gives its compliments to the men and women who provide great service to visitors across Genesee County. This year, more than 75 people from a dozen businesses and organizations across the county are up for awards in several categories including hospitality hotel and restaurant of the year.
Cheryl DeFrain, Interim Executive Director of the Flint Area CVB, said the event, set for Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. at the Riverfront Banquet Center in downtown Flint, showcases the best our hospitality industry has to offer.
“In order to attract visitors to Flint and Genesee County, it’s imperative that we continue to provide great hospitality,” DeFrain said. “All of our nominees have demonstrated their willingness to go the extra mile to provide great service to visitors, so this is their night.”
The entertainment at this year’s Hospitality Awards will be provided by Jim Hoke, a well-known hypnotist who has entertained Oprah Winfrey, Larry King and more during his career.
“We try to mix it up every year to keep the event fresh,” said event organizer Holly Carlton, CMP. “Jim Hoke has been educating and entertaining all at once for more than 30 years. His stage hypnosis is really something to see.”
The Hospitality Awards’ emcee this year will be Ron Rolak, the director of Flint’s historic Atwood Stadium.
