During the month of March, The Flint - Genesee County Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting a 'Visit Flint' Logo Design Contest for anyone interested in having their handiwork used to promote the Flint area to out-of-town visitors.

'Visit Flint' Logo Design Contest Official Rules
Introduction
This document describes the official rules of the 'Visit Flint' Logo Design Contest organized by the Flint - Genesee County Convention & Visitors Bureau. The object of this contest is to design a logo for the FACVB's line of Flint merchandise and for use online. To the extent of any inconsistency, these Official Rules prevail.
Definitions
1. The Contest is open to any individual, regardless of organizational association.
2. Employees of the FACVB or family members of employees are not eligible to enter the Contest.
How to Enter
1. Initial entries must be submitted by email to jfield@visitflint.org. The entries must be submitted as a scalable vector graphic in EPS format and also as a JPG.
2. The email must include the name, age, postal address, phone number and email address of the Entrant.
3. No more than two entries may be submitted by any one Entrant.
4. Entries must conform to the submission guidelines set out below. Entries which fail to do so will be rejected.
5. The deadline for Entries is noon (EST) on March 28, 2011.
6. We will attempt to acknowledge receipt of all entries by e-mail; however, we cannot be responsible for entries or responses lost in e-mail.
7. There is no fee to enter the contest.
Submission Guidelines
The purpose of the contest is to design a new and creative logo for the Flint - Genesee County Convention & Visitors Bureau's salable merchandise and for its online publications, so adaptability is a key requirement. The final version of the logo will need to be suitable for high quality printing as well.
The logo does not necessarily have to contain the wording "Visit Flint," though it's certainly an option.
Please limit e-mail attachments to 10 megabytes or less.
Prizes
Subject to the legal requirements outlined above, the winning design will be announced on March 31, 2011.
The winning designer will receive: A $300 cash prize.
The second-place designer will receive: $50 gift certificate to Blackstone’s and a pair of vouchers for the April 16th performance of the Flint Symphony Orchestra.
Judging and Selection of Winner
1. The winning design will be selected by the staff of the FACVB.
2. The FACVB reserves the right not to select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.
3. The FACVB reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant or Entry at its sole discretion. No correspondence shall be entered into.
4. The winner will be required to sign a contract assigning all ownership of the logo to the FACVB.
5. Accepting the prize constitutes permission for the FACVB to make public and otherwise use winner’s name for publicity purposes.
Intellectual Property
1. All submitted work must be original and not based on any pre-existing or copyrighted design.
2. All Entries will become the sole property of the FACVB and may be displayed publicly on the FACVB's new media platforms.
Acceptance
Participation constitutes the Entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. By participating in the Contest, the entrant is representing and warranting that he/she has read and understood, and agrees to be bound by, these rules. Including the guides and rules referred to herein, these Official Rules constitute the entire agreement between the Entrant and the FACVB in relation to the Contest. They govern the Entrant’s participation and supersede any prior or other agreements between the Entrant and the FACVB and relating to the Contest.
